For this cover of of "IME" we again the see the ubiquitous white, black, red colour scheme which in this case applies to the main image as well as the text.
The use of these three colours can be associated to many things:
- It is a commonly applied colour scheme and keeps the magazine appearing professional and familiar
- This mix of colours is gender neutral
- The black and white colours connote to a newspaper which is familiar to all ages, genders and demographics with the red adding an element of 'spice' to interest the reader and draw atention\
The two characters on the cover are not looking at the reader, however their gaze instead draws attention to the main cover line, "Oasis: Black Eyes & Smashed Guitars", which surpasses even the magazine title in it's prescence. Following the main cover line, the slanted cover lines below slide the readers attention down the entire cover. Part of the cover lines, even appear to fall off as they are cut off by the bottom edge of the magaine, this connotes o a large amount of articles within and arouses curiosity within the reader.
The magazine's tile may be smaller and less emphasised on than the main cover line, however it's red colour sets it apart, the lack of emphasis on the title suggests that the magazine is important and popular and the reader already knows what it is before picking it up.
