This cover of tab, a student written magazine, is kept very simple.
Containing only one displayed article and a poor quality monochrome photo occupying the lower half, as is this magazine's tradition.
The masthead, a lower case somewhat curvy font displayed in front of a checkered oval, is entirely black and white.
The background is a basic photoshop effect, orange in colour, and multiple yet simple fonts are used, sometimes with a slight effect.
The combination of basic images and little colour gives off a very down to earth impression, with the monochrome foreground well separated from the duochrome background whose cloudlike appearence melds with the low quality photo.
The masthead is simple but bold enough to be noticed without directly striking at the reader, a combination of solely lowercase characters, a curvaceous font and oval background with a gentle hash, all of this in black and white. This use of unassuming elements creates a humble, down to earth cover.
